Scenes down south: the stragglers
Here are some photos from other scenes down south. I took over 600 on the trip, so it is, as one can imagine, difficult to pick and choose.
We spent one beautifully picturesque evening exploring the mountainside town of Fontaine de Vaucluse, and chomping on Truite Meuniere by it's not so quiet spring.
The town boasts the largest water source for the region, which is also quite beautiful. And terribly loud. We also enjoyed to best lip-smackingly delish bottle of white wine of the trip here.
We descended the next morning to the seaside town of Cassis, just in time for the rains to cast a charlie brown-esque storm cloud over our heads. The colors of the town were still satisfyingly beautiful juxtaposed against the grey sky.
The rain obviously did not deter the youngins from their promised ocean romp.
Though those hoping to profit from the wind seemed to give in early and return to port. Chickens.
Oki, maybe the seas were a bit rough. Though I swear I've conquered bigger waves in a turnabout (otherwise known as a glorified bathtub with a mast).
Sadly, this rain signaled the end of our southern sejour. It was a beautifully relaxing couple of days, and it was quite refreshing to discover a part of France I'd heard so much about, but never had a chance to visit. Stay tuned for my thesis on driving in France, as well as some moving photos from World War One monuments. Oh, and more photos of duck.
